Why doing all the things in a routine makes you stress free?

- A routine is the practice of regularly doing things in a fixed order. Brushing your teeth neatly and getting ready for office at the same time everyday is a routine. Making breakfast everyday on time is a result of routine. Waking up at 5 a.m. and exercising every morning is a routine. Snippets: - 'Humans generally follow a daily routine in their lives. This could be getting up at a certain time, eating breakfast, going to work and so on. There’s a set pattern that our subconscious mind gets used to. It gives us a sense of control and comfort'. - 'Doing something regularly allows you to stick with it, Behaviors become automatic when performed several times'. - 'A lack of organization and routine can develop feelings of anguish and may make your thoughts negative which will make you think more about your problems'. - 'If we want to structure a routine then we should be aware of the tasks that are to be completed'. - 'A structured plan will get thing...

 - We all have patterns, habits, ways of doing things that feel comfortable and familiar. But men who haven’t grown up emotionally often get stuck in these past patterns. - If you notice a man who seems oblivious to his own behavior and its impact on others, it could be a sign of emotional immaturity. - If you notice a man repeatedly falling into the same patterns, especially ones that cause problems or pain, it could be a sign of emotional immaturity. - This lack of empathy can make relationships challenging. What is Emotional Intelligence and it's importance for successful life:

-   Understanding the concept of EQ: Emotional Intelligence, or emotional quotient (EQ), is defined as an individual's ability to identify, evaluate, control, and express emotions. People with high EQ usually make great leaders and team players because of their ability to understand, empathize, and connect with the people around them.  IQ, or intelligence quotient, is score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess an individual's intelligence. IQ is used to determine academic abilities and identify individuals with off-the-chart intelligence or mental challenges. EQ is a better indicator of success in the workplace and is used to identify leaders, good team players, and people who best work by themselves. Emotional awareness is best inculcated from an early age by encouraging qualities like sharing, thinking about others, putting oneself in another person's shoes, giving individual space and the general principles of cooperation. Why we should get trained to fail ?

 - A letter to all parents...... There was a very brilliant boy, he always scored 100% in Science. Got Selected for IIT Madras and scored excellent in IIT. Went to the University of California for MBA. Got a high paying job in America and settled there. Got Married. Bought a big house and luxury cars. He had everything that make him successful but a few years ago he committed suicide after shooting his wife and children. *WHAT WENT WRONG?* California Institute of Clinical Psychology Studied his case and found *“what went wrong?”* The researcher met the boy's friends and family and found that he lost his job due to America’s economic crisis and he had to sit without a job for a long time.  After even reducing his previous salary amount, he didn't get any job.  Then his house installment broke and he and his family lost the home.  They survived a few months with less money and then he and his wife together decided to commit suicide.  He first shot his wife and chi...

How to win people in decision making:

 - Have you come across a situation where you discuss some common challenge with your colleague and want a common decision and solution to be given. And in that process sometimes you experience difference of option leading to a conflict like situation. This happens to us in family, friends and professional life. For this we need to understand how to create win-win situation, how to use negotiation skills.  ‘The term negotiation refers to  a strategic discussion intended to resolve an issue in a way that both parties find acceptable . Negotiations involve give and take, which means one or both parties will usually need to make some concessions’. Example of negotiations: Salary negotiation: Candidates for jobs can bargain with an employer about their salary and benefits. Vendor negotiation: Many businesses negotiate with vendors on the pricing and services provided in contacts. Life skills and tips (Perfectionism)--

- - What does a good job look like to your boss, peer, or client? Seek their feedback on expected results, costs, and timelines rather than trying to meet your extremely high standards. - Consider how perfectionism impacts your relationships. Are you setting unrealistic standards for those around you?  - The need to have it “perfect” will often annoy others, and in extreme cases, drive them away.  Source: https://hbr.org/tip/2020/02/dont-let-perfect-be-the-enemy-of-good

What could a belief in yourself and your abilities, do for you?

During a brutal study at Harvard in the 1950s, Dr. Curt Richter placed rats in a pool of water to test how long they could tread water. On average they'd give up and sink after 15 minutes. But right before they gave up due to exhaustion, the researchers would pluck them out, dry them off, let them rest for a few minutes - and put them back in for a second round. In this second try - how long do you think they lasted? Remember - they had just swam until failure only a few short minutes ago... How long do you think? Another 15 minutes? 10 minutes? 5 minutes? No! 60 hours! That's not an error. That's right! 60 hours of swimming. The conclusion drawn was that since the rats BELIEVED that they would eventually be rescued, they could push their bodies way past what they previously thought impossible. I will leave you with this thought: If hope can cause exhausted rats to swim for that long, what could a belief in yourself and your abilities, do for you? So let’s inject HOPE in p...

*How do you know you are rich?*

- Amazing answer by Mr Awadhesh Singh, an ex student of IT-BHU (now IIT-BHU) When I was doing my B Tech, there was a Professor Das Talukedar who used to teach us ‘Mechanics’. His lectures used to be very interesting since he had an interesting way to teach and explain the concepts. One day, in the class, he asked the following questions, 1. What is ZERO? 2.What is INFINITY? 3. Can ZERO and INFINITY be same? We all thought that we knew the answers and we replied as following, ZERO means *nothing* INFINITY means *a number greater than any countable number* ZERO and INFINITY *are opposite and they can never be same* He countered us by first talking about infinity and asked, ‘How can there be any number which is greater than any countable number?’ We had no answers. He then explained the concept of infinity in a very interesting way, which I remember even after more than 35 years. He said that imagine that there is an illiterate shepherd who can count only upto 20. Now, if the number of sh...

Pro-Assertive challenge?

When you are on the way to a job interview. On the road, you put an emergency brake to avoid hitting a person passing by, and due to this a other bike hits your bike. How do you handle the situation? Both might become aggressive or either of one party. Even if you know that you are at wrong first, you might try to defend yourself. Now you just imagine and conclude what will be your reaction in this situation. Generally actions and interactions are of three categories such as Assertive, Passive and Aggressive. Action and interaction depends on how each person perceives and takes the meaning out of each others actions. Which is clearly explained in symbolic interaction theory. Let us know the nature of these three characters:   Assertive- Respect for others' views, brief, clear, direct, win-win.   Passive- Not clear in expression, easily give up, introvert/shy.   Aggressive- Dominating, harsh, efforts are...

Being Non-Judgemental:

Its not necessary that, all the buses moving on Airport road, should go to Airport. What do you understand from this liner? How many times in our relationships, teams and dealings we conclude that all the buses are moving to Airport, only to realize atlast that its not the fact. In Qur'an Allah says: “O you who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest you harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what you have done.” [Sûrah al-Hujurât: 5] He also warns: “O you who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a sin.” [Sûrah al-Hujurât: 12] The intention of refering this above scentences from qur'an is to understand the importance of being non-judgemental from as far as 1500 years ago. And also there are many scriptures which highlight about this.      Being judgemental is to be of a quality of clear mind, unbiased thinking, listen to understand, value for indiv...

Problem solving.

Problem solving      It is said that, in life people get 90 percent opportunities and face 10 percent of problems and difficulties. The opportunities are neglected and only the problems are concentrated. The researchers suggest that the goal has to be concentrated primarily rather than a problem itself.      The Gestalt psychologist Karl Duncker defined a problem as, "A problem arises when a living creature has a goal but does not know how this goal is to be reached. Whenever one cannot go from the given situation to the desired situation simply by action, then there has to be recourse to thinking. Such thinking has the task of devising some action, which may mediate between the existing and desired situations". Credence life skill tools. Decision making

'Once you make a decision, the universe conspires (Unites) to make it happen'. This is said by Ralph Waldo Emerson. When we look at the above words it gives an immense force to do things. Nevertheless, we have to do the major home work for the universe, i.e. Decision making itself.   The decision making is one of the toughest tasks to do. The decision making requires various skills such as probability, forecasting, history study, analysis and briefing.  The best and productive way to do decision making is as a team. In a team there is an opportunity to get broad ideas on pros and cons of a concept, whereas, as an individual decision maker we have to deal with our self-thoughts.  As in today’s world the opportunities and the tasks to perform are very broad, so team is emphasized as an option everywhere.   Credence life skill tools. Motivating potentials...   A researcher Pam Brown, breaks the decision making process...

Creative Thinking.

Creative thinking:      Apple is the cause for Isaac Newton to put hard his thinking, which we all agree. Did newton decide to go and sit under an apple tree and planned to think about apple when he sees one falling from the branch?   No, it was all sudden. Thus creative people take forward the situation into deep thinking, thus bring out the deep insight out of it. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Inc says, ‘’Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize (combine) new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other people’’.              Beat your thinkin...
