The most important aspect of living a happy and satisfying life is developing the personal life skills to be happy. Being happy is the result of combining the inner person with their day-to-day activities. Personal development is a lifelong process which requires will, dedication and daily discipline.

The right attitude can help you stay calm and happy even in the most difficult of times. This life skills blog includes tips on simple ways to make life better.

We wanted to share life enriching information with our friends and family during 2013, at the same time one of our co-founder was deciding to quit MNC job and work on life skills full-time. In thirst of fullfiling this ambition we were looking at various online platforms. Finally we came to know about blogger.com from Google. We humbly started our life skills blog simply called as 'life skills'.

What is 'life skills'?

According to World Health Organization (WHO), Life skills are defined as “a group of psychosocial competencies and
interpersonal skills that help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathize with others, and cope with and
manage their lives in a healthy and productive manner. Life skills may be directed toward personal actions or actions toward others, as well as toward actions to change the surrounding environment to make it
conducive to health.”

Bearing the WHO definition in mind, the 'Life Skills' blog offers people the emotional, social and intellectual information needed to achieve success in life – on a personal level, an interpersonal level, and within their community and work places.

Our main aim right now is to inform and educate others on various topics that will teach them about how they can live a more fulfilling and enriching life. Some of the topics we speak on and also collect and share from various sources for the blog. Here topics are discussed, from goal setting, healthy eating, improving marriage or relationships with dear ones, home living, and so much more.

Impossible is often just a breakthrough waiting for someone stubborn enough to find it:

 - The story of Katalin Karik├│ is one of the most remarkable examples of scientific persistence in modern history. For decades, her career was defined by rejection, academic demotion, and the constant threat of deportation. While the scientific establishment dismissed messenger RNA (mRNA) as a fragile and "dead-end" molecule, Karik├│ remained convinced that it held the key to a medical revolution. Her journey from smuggling savings inside a teddy bear in communist Hungary to standing on the Nobel Prize podium is not just a biography of a scientist, but a testament to the power of unwavering conviction in the face of institutional doubt. --------- Story: Katalin Karik├│ fled her country with $1,200 hidden in a teddy bear. She was thirty years old, had a PhD in biochemistry, and believed in an idea almost no one else did. Messenger RNA could teach human cells how to fight disease. She had no idea it would take forty years for the world to listen. In 1985, Karik├│, her husband, and...

Coping with Emotion.

Emotions:       Have you ever observed some of the situations occur in our lives?      Say, you are walking on a road; suddenly a biker comes and lightly hits you, so that your dress gets dusty. How do you react? Shout at him or physically hit him or you keep passive and just walk on the road. Suppose if you beat the biker, you did not have the intention or even think of beating the person, but why did you beat? It is all sudden, because there is always an internal action and reaction process which takes place between our hearts, mind and physical body, which we do not see. Thus in the same kind, emotions also do work within our body and mind. Emotions take many faces as per the situation like, Anger predisposes us to defense or fighting and Fear predisposes us to flight (run away) or fight.      What is Emotion?      Emotions are a complex state of feeling that results in physical and psyc...

*Dealing With Short Tempered People!*:

- Ibn al-Jawz─л said: “When your companion becomes angry and says something that is unwarranted, you should not take it too hard. His situation is that of a drunken person who is not aware of what is taking place. Instead, be patient, even if it means only for a little while. If you reciprocate his words with harsh words of your own, you become like the sane person who seeks revenge on a madman, or the conscious person who seeks retribution from an unconscious one. Look at him with a merciful eye and pity him for his actions.” ‎● [╪│┘К╪п ╪з┘Д╪о╪з╪╖╪▒ ╪╡╪н┘Б╪й ┘д┘а┘ж] Source: received through whatsapp message

Social problem solving skills for better life:

Snippets: - Social problem solving skills are a set of  skills  involving cognitive and behavioral processes in which one works to find positive and adaptive ways to handle everyday problematic situations that could arise in the  social  environment. - For example, these  skills  include, self-awareness, an understanding of emotions, how to manage anger, perspective taking, empathy, prosocial behavior, and establishing positive relationships (igi-global.com). - Social problem solving might be understood as systems and processes that we use to solve the problems that we encounter in our everyday lives. - A problem is defined as any situation or task that needs some kind of a response if it is to be managed effectively. - Each of us will see problems in a different way, depending on our experience and skills. - The important element is being able to see problems as ‘challenges’, or opportunities to gain something. - Those who find it...

Achievers operate differently. They have an eye for the essential:

 - *"NOT EVERYTHING MATTERS EQUALLY"* "It's not enough to be busy, so are the ants."  ~ Henry David Thoreau.  The question is, what are we busy about? Knocking out a hundred tasks for whatever the reason is a poor substitute for doing even one task that is meaningful.  Not everything matters equally, and success is not a game won by whoever does the most. Yet that is exactly how most play it on a daily basis.  "The things which are most important does not always scream the loudest" ~ Bob Hawke Achievers operate differently. They have an eye for the essential. They pause just long enough to decide what matters and then allow what matters to drive their day.  Achievers do Sooner what others plan to do later and defer, perhaps indefinitely, what others do Sooner. The different is not in intent, but in a right of way. Achievers always work from a sense of priority. Source: received through whatsapp
