Don't be difficult with old people ... they can outwit the young and dumb:

OLD AGE        The old lady handed her bank card to a bank teller and said, “I would like to withdraw $500.”          The female teller told her, “For withdrawals less than $1,000, please use the ATM.”           The old lady then asked, “Why?”           The teller irritably told her, “These are the rules. Please leave if there is no other matter. There is a queue behind you.”           She then returned the card to the old lady.          The old lady remained silent … but then she returned the card to the teller and said, “Please help me withdraw all the money I have.”           The teller was astonished when she checked the account balance.           She nodded her head, leaned down and said to the old lady, My apologies Ma'am, you have $3.5 million in your accoun...

You don't die if you fall in water, you die only if you don't swim:

💨 Ducks Quack, Eagles Soar: (Received this story as social media forward) I was waiting in line for a ride at the airport in Dubai. When a cab pulled up, the first thing I noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for me. He handed me a laminated card and said: 'I'm Abdul, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.' Taken aback, I read the card. It said: Abdul's Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment. This blew me away. Especially when I noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean! As he slid behind the wheel, Abdul said, 'Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.' I sai...

Remembering good old days- Growing up in a very simple and yet happy environment:

✍️ Regardless of the weather, our dinner time was at 8:00 PM  and bed time was 10:30.  Eating out at a restaurant was a huge deal, a rarity actually, that only happened when it was a birthday or a very special occasion to celebrate.  There was no such thing as fast food on every other day, and having a bottle of soft drinks and an ice-cream from the local shop was a real treat. Pass your final exams and you might have gotten a new set of clothes, or Bata shoes.  You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your ‘home’ clothes. There was no taking or picking you up in the car, you either boarded the school bus or rode on public transport, or just walked home. You got home did your chores and homework before dinner.  Not everyone had a house phone and much later, all private conversation were at PCO booth's. We didn’t have appletv AmazonPrime or Netflix. We had only Doordarshan to watch. Jungle Book came once a week on a Sunday and Chh...

About 'Life skills' initiative around the world:

 - Of late you might have been hearing the word 'life-skills' education. Many school boards and universities are including life skills education into their curriculum. Many companies are training their employees on life skills. In India CBSE board has made Life Skills training compulsory, and most other Boards are following it up. Engineering colleges are incorporating life skills training to ensure that students are made industry-ready; Bangalore University has made it compulsory for Arts, Science and Commerce students to study Life Skills in 4th Semester. What is 'life skills' ? Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. Life is dynamic which is full of constant changes, for which one is expected to be adaptable. Life skills is a term used to describe a set of basic skills acquired through learning and/or direct life experience that enable individuals and groups to effec...

Even crazy looking problems are sometimes real and all problems seem to be simple only when we find the solution:

- *Vanilla Ice Cream that puzzled General motors!!!!* An Interesting Story.  Once long time ago a complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General Motors: 'This is the second time I have written to you, and I don't blame you for not answering me, because I sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a tradition in our family of Ice-Cream for dessert after dinner each night, but the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the whole family votes on which kind of ice cream we should have and I drive down to the store to get it. It's also a fact that I recently purchased a new Pontiac and since then my trips to the store have created a problem..... You see, every time I buy a vanilla ice-cream, when I start back from the store my car won't start. If I get any other kind of ice cream, the car starts just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no matter how silly it sounds "What is there about a Pontiac that makes...

How you can influence others through the way you speak:

 - Many times we discuss with people, express our thoughts, and feel that we could have put across the message more clear and strong. A good communicator and speaker is an influencer, be it at office, community, home, friends etc.  Persuasion is an art and it's like giving energy supply to language, to make it more effective. It is an effective communication technique. Persuasion can be treated as a synonym of a ‘positive force’. Every leader is expected to master it. Great leaders know that it is not just what they say that is important but how they say it. The manner of saying something is more important than matter itself.  In short, persuasion skills can be used to improve the lives of those with whom we relate. How do persuaders convince others? They use anecdotes, empathy, emotive language, catchy and convincing phrases, chatty style, rhetorical questions, repetition. At times, we may have to convey a negative message to someone. An effective communicator will conve...

We should learn to care and share with others; and have faith and trust in them and we will find these assets for ourself:

 - *Corporate lesson*  Be cautious when you take a leave from your job - it should be short enough to let the team miss you and definitely not so long enough that your team realise that it can function without you.. . The above message was received through whatsapp. This thought makes you believe that your team should be made to feel that the team is functioning because of you. Actually this thought comes out of job insecurity concern. We need to believe and remember that the job is not about job satisfaction and money. The job is about outcome, an impact and a true care for the people we care for. What ideally should be the situation. We should strengthen our team in such a way that the team should function without 'me'. The team should get the skills and attitudes from you which should develop expertise in your team. We should learn to care and share with team; and have faith and trust in them and we will find these assets for ourself. William A. Ward had said, three keys to...
