Passion is a form of intensity, a hunger for life.

- In around 1971, five IBM engineers from the AI department (Dietmar HoppKlaus Tschira, Hans-Werner Hector, Hasso Plattner, and Claus Wellenreuther, all from Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg) were working on an enterprise-wide system based on a particular software, and during those days it was told to them that it would no longer be necessary for them to work on this project.

These 5 seem to be very passionate and focused towards working on a software product which focused on enterprise wide processes integration. And it happened that these 5 people rather than abandoning the project, they decided to leave IBM Tech and start another company.

And here you go now it’s 2023 and guess which is that company now?

It’s 2022 revenue is €30.87 Billion. The company is the world's leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software vendor.

It is the largest non-American software company by revenue, the world's third-largest publicly traded software company by revenue, and the largest German company by market capitalization.

It’s none other than SAP (Systems, Applications & Products).

It’s amazing story right. These passionate people were so focused on their goal, that they wanted to continue the project through a new company because they lost the opportunity at the organisation where they were employed.

If enthusiasm and passion are present, people tend to be more resilient when encountering obstacles. People who are passionate about what they do, rather than just "in it for the money," tend to be people who have more positive outlooks and can overcome difficulty through problem-solving (investopedia).

Passion for work means you feel excited about what you do. You find meaning and purpose in your work.

So let’s find passion in our work and mission, rather than just dive in for money.

Right attitude is a great power (story):

😒A Businessman was deep in debt and could not see any way  out. 😒Creditors and Suppliers were demanding payments. He sat in the park, deep in thought, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. 👍Suddenly an old man appeared before him and asked, "I can see that something is troubling you seriously". 👍After listening patiently the old man said, "I believe I can help you". 👍👍👍He asked the man his name, wrote out a cheque and put it into his hands saying, 👍"Take this money, meet me here exactly one year from today... and you can pay me back at that time". 👍Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. 👌👌👌The businessman saw in his hands a cheque for $ 500,000... signed by Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world. 👍"I can erase my worries instantly...

Beyond Fear: How a Single Attitude Change Unlocks Growth:

  🌟 Open the Door to Opportunity: The Power of a Positive Mindset We often encounter situations that highlight the stark difference between a closed, fearful mindset and an open, positive attitude. The choices we make daily—even small ones—are often dictated by whether we focus on the potential loss or the potential gain. A perfect illustration of this took place in a restaurant. I noticed the owner kept the large front door closed, essentially hiding a valuable marketing display and limiting the shop's visibility. When I asked him why, his reason was simple and fear-driven: "What if people will eat and go without paying?" His focus was entirely on preventing a minor potential fraud cost . The Opportunity Cost of Fear I challenged him to compare that small potential loss (the fraud cost) with the much larger benefit he was sacrificing: the marketing opportunity cost . By keeping the door closed, he was missing out on: ...

Whats Humility in Google's approach:

The forbes in one of the article has discussed about the google's employee selection funda.  It is a straight 5 point funda. which seem to be casual words, yet powerful. Lets count it all back. 5.expertise 4.ownership 3.humility 2.leadership 1.ability to learn. In the above sequence, the humility has caught the centre stage. when i put my mind to think the humility as an actor, its got a lead role. The history has scripted many dynasties being ruined due to lack of humility.  Thus companies need humility among its people to have culture built to last for centuries. Humility means quality of being humble.  Listen, care, hope for others what you hope for yourself.  Being humble creates a relaxed mind.  And humility demands assertive mind and heart and smile for no reason.   credence life skill tools. Leaders Get Results:

Secret 5: Leaders Get Results from  The 7 Secrets of Exceptional Leadership by Brian Tracy Results are everything–in life, in business and in leadership. Leaders are those who have developed the ability to achieve the most important results expected of them in their positions. The first question of the leader is always,  "What results are expected of me?" The second question leaders ask is,  "Of all the results that I can achieve, what are the most important results for my business?" There will always be too much to do and too little time, especially for leaders in their positions of responsibility. All of life, therefore, consists of making choices and decisions between what is more important and what is less important, between what you care about the most and what you care about less. The quality of your life today is a measure of the quality of your choices and decisions up to this point. To improve the quality of your life in the future, you must make bett...

let things happen to you:

 - 'No one ever gives you credit for doing what’s slow and hard and invisible. Sweating out that book chapter, doing that colleague a favor, writing that newsletter'. 'But we can’t just optimize for the short-term and assume that will automatically translate into long-term success. We have to be willing to do hard, laborious, ungratifying things today — the kind of things that make little sense in the short term — so we can enjoy exponential results in the future'. We have to be willing to be patient. 'Not patient in a passive, “let things happen to you” way, but actively and vigorously patient: willing to deny yourself the easy path so you can do what’s meaningful'. The results won’t be visible tomorrow, when the difference may be imperceptible. 'But it will be in five or ten or 30 years, when you’ve created the future you’ve always wanted. Big goals often seem — and frankly, are — impossible in the short term. But with small, methodical steps, almost anyth...
